Business Policies
Recommended Lesson Duration: For most students, my recommended lesson length for private tutoring is 1.5 hours (90 minutes). However, I recommend shorter meetings (approximately 1 hour each) for younger students in grades K-8.
For my group courses, I recommend 1.5-hour classes for groups of 2 students, 2-hour classes for groups of 3-5 students, and 2.5-hour classes for groups of 6-8 students. (As a general rule, the more students in the class, the longer the session needs to be to cover the same amount of material.)
Locations:
All lessons are conducted online via Zoom or Google Meet. Unless you live in the Middle Georgia area where I can arrange for face to face tutoring.
Scheduling:
I try to be as flexible as possible when it comes to lesson times. I understand that many students have very busy schedules, and am happy to accommodate each student's needs. I schedule lessons on a first-come, first-serve basis, and am available for lessons Monday - Friday, 5 pm to 8 pm, and on weekends from 8 am- 11 pm (ET).
Payment:
I stand by my students' results, so I never require you to pay for more than one lesson at a time. If, after the first lesson, you decide to purchase a pre-paid discount program, then I will be happy to put the cost of the first lesson toward the total cost of the program itself.
All private lessons last 60,90, or 120 minutes in duration. Group lesson can last longer up to 4 hours.
All lessons must be pre-paid. I accept payment by PayPal, CashApp, cash, or personal check. I also offer significant discounts for up-front programs. Pre-paid packages are not refundable. Payment in installments can be made weekly or monthly.
Rate Changes and Notifications:
I will honor your original rate for as long as you need tutoring, even if I have since raised my rate. If you ever discover an error in your billing, then I will be happy to adjust your account accordingly.
Study Materials/Miscellaneous Charges:
I am happy to provide any necessary books and materials for your student. All books/materials will be billed for at the current Amazon.com retail price. I am also happy to ship these books to your home address at no extra charge.

Cancellations Policy
Last-minute cancellations make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to fill time slots. Therefore, Chafyaay Math maintains the following cancellation policy:
24-hour cancellation policy:
Any lesson may be canceled or postponed, so long as I am given 24 hours advance notice. However, if notice is not provided at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of the lesson, and this happens more than once, then the client agrees to pay for full price of the lesson. I understand that this is a harsh penalty to pay if the absence is unavoidable, but this policy has proven to be necessary. Some of my younger students have a tendency to be unreliable, so it is the parent’s responsibility to make sure the student arrives prepared and on time for each lesson. If the student cancels the lesson, then I will consider this a cancellation. If the student is more than 30 minutes late to the lesson, then I will also consider this a cancellation. I suggest keeping my cell phone number on hand, as the best way to contact me is directly by phone. The sooner you cancel, the sooner I can try to fill that time slot and prevent losing my income for the day. Please keep in mind that I can usually fill your time slot with another student if given sufficient notice.
Individual Tutoring Cancellations: 50% for same-day cancellations and 100% for less than 2 hours' notice.
Group Tutoring Cancellations: If a student is unable to attend his/her scheduled group session, 100% of the session duration will be deducted from his/her account. If all students must cancel or reschedule, the entire group is subject to 50% of billable amount for less than 36 hours’ notice and 100% for same-day cancellations.
If Mr. Chafyaay cancels on a student within the aforementioned parameters, the student receives one future cancellation free of penalty.
Cancellations must be made in writing via text or email.
